One of the lovely (just one, there are lots more!) things about staying at our bed and breakfast – birds!
Thom does a phenomenal job of planting just the right trees and shrubs to attract butterflies and birds.
He makes sure the bird house/s are facing just the right way to attract the right birds.
Different birds require different bird seed. And of course there’s the watering hole, which is always fun to watch birds splashing around after they’re satiated on a hot day.
Recently, we had a little family of Carolina wrens make their home at our place.
They laid eggs, and then scurried back and forth getting food for their babies.
And they make a lot of noise! It’s a lovely noise, birdsong, but it is noise.
I’ve enjoyed hearing their squawking when they’re about to get their breakfast – and sneaked this zoomed-in photo to see them.
