we count down the last 7 days to Christmas Day. The day when the Hallmark movies are supposed to come to life in our homes as we have the perfect day in our oh-so-perfect lives…not.
If you’re human, like me, you have to be intentional about focusing on the reason you’re celebrating Christmas. I find myself having to make a decision to do a course correction in my thought tunnel. Particularly at this time of year when it’s easy to get caught up in the frenzy of shopping, adding debt to a New Year that hasn’t even arrived yet. Or over-scheduling activities when a quiet hour in the conservatory with a cup of tea would be more meaningful.
You’ve got 7 days to make this meaningful. Slow down and enjoy it. Indulge in a drive by moment of joy – take in some Christmas lights at a slow pace, then circle the block and enjoy them again. You’ll have a more intentionally peaceful evening tonight as you focus on the reason for this season.
