When we first opened for business in 2003, Thom and I had spent over a decade each, traveling for work, staying in hotels and motels, before the internet was as normal as coffee for breakfast. The lodging, as nice as those hotels were, became rather ho-hum after a while. They were chains, all the same, and if I woke up in Miami, I could just as easily have been in Pensacola. When we were vacationing together, we started staying at bed and breakfasts, just so it didn’t feel like another business trip.
We’re pleased that business travelers today, have discovered that bed and breakfasts (legal ones, like us) are a much better choice, value for money, and make that necessary business trip less of a burden when away from home.
We love reading comments like these, because as former business travelers ourselves, we know business travelers value warm, caring hospitality and we’re happy that we’ve become many a traveler’s “go to” place when they know they’re going to be in Tallahassee. You should help out a business traveler in your circle, recommend a bed and breakfast they’ll start to love going home to, rather than that dull franchise they just end up in!
