Another reason to love Tallahassee..
Being a busy innkeeper can keep you locked within the 4 walls of your castle, as the world comes to your doorstep and you provide the hospitality that comes naturally (or should, if you're a proper innkeeper!). Every so often though, one just has to break out. Recently, we scored tickets to the annual fundraiser for Big Bend Hospice, the Spring Fling with the theme of Under the Artists' Moon.
A fabulous time was had by all - even though it had rained all day, and for a few days before too. It all stopped just in time for the 7 pm opening and for the ladies heels not to sink in the softened grass...
Some of the best restaurants in Tallahassee were there providing delicacies, nibbles and plates of fine food. What's not to love about Tallahassee? Additionally, artistic items had been set up all over the venue. So as well as fine food, fine company (handsome Thom escorted me) and fine weather, there was plenty to feast one's eyes upon as we roved around, bumping into old friends and making new ones.
We ran into Jerry and Ellen who I'd assumed had moved away because I hadn't seen them in over 20 years (yes, I"ve been in Tallahassee a long time). It was good to catch up over something sweet from Peterbrooke Chocolatiere. We bumped into local celebrities, some friends from church, and other local business owners such as ourselves. We love the Little English Guesthouse, but it's great to leave and be someone else's guest ...I think it helps us provide an even better guest experience when we get back to work.
Speaking of which, got to run...guests arriving soon.
