So if if you’ve ever wanted to stay at an English bed and breakfast and spend the rest of the weekend immersed in all things Scottish, you need to come to Tallahassee this weekend! The Tallahassee Highland Games will be at Apalachee Regional Park (7550 Apalachee Parkway) from 8:30 am – 9:30 pm, this Saturday and Sunday.
There will be caber tossing (it’s like throwing a huge telegraph pole!), Stones of strength, dancing (and maybe a lesson or two!). If you’re competing, they said you have to wear a kilt to compete. It sounds like too much fun! The rules are all on their website, so take a look below.
Here’s a little video to whet your appetite! https://youtu.be/fWn-HIXroD4
And remember to make your reservation at the LittleEnglishGuesthouse to make it the perfect weekend. Do that now!
The Tallahassee Highland Games https://tallyhighlandgames.com is a non profit event hosted by May and Fain Cultural and Sports, a non profit corporation. Their mission is to promote and create opportunities for strength sports and the surrounding cultures and communities. They believe that given the opportunity to participate in strength sports and enjoy the cultures they are inextricably tied to, offers people a chance to find themselves, discover lost heritage, and begin honing more than just their bodies. The excitement and empowerment that the strength culture provides is so very unique yet different for each person participating or competing in them.
